The overall project objective is to improve food security and drought resilience in Turkana and Marsabit counties of Northern Kenya. The project result areas include:
Increased competencies of relevant state and non-state actors at national and county level to formulate policies and programs relevant to drought resilience.
Integrated advisory concepts for animal husbandry, crop production and/or fishery, processing, and appropriate storage of food and other products as well as sustainable management of natural resources have been developed for four selected agro-ecological areas, in cooperation with local stakeholders (public agricultural advisory services, NGOs, CBOs and other grass root organizations, private sector, donors)
Improved capacities of county authorities for knowledge-based planning, control and financing of measures for drought resilience.
