Project Goals
- Support government agencies, organizations, and coastal communities to sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems across the Kenya-Tanzania border.
• Strengthen transboundary coordination through multi-stakeholder structures and collaborative strategies.
• Enhance the technical, institutional, and governance capacities of Beach Management Units (BMUs), local authorities, and relevant ministries.
• Promote income diversification for coastal communities through sustainable livelihoods such as seaweed farming, carbon markets, and small-scale fisheries.
• Foster gender and youth inclusion in marine resource management.
• Document and share good practices and results to inform regional learning and knowledge exchange
