Project Goals

• Provide strategic and operational support to NDMA in implementing Kenya’s Ending Drought Emergencies (EDE) strategy.
  • Facilitate inter-sectoral and intergovernmental coordination among EDE stakeholders.
  • Support the development and initiation of the National Drought Emergency Fund (NDEF).
  • Enhance NDMA’s capacity for early warning systems, drought preparedness, response, and resilience building.
  • Deliver strategic policy and management advice to NDMA senior leadership, including support to the CEO.
  • Strengthen resource mobilization and development partner engagement.

Type of Services Provided

• Served as Technical & Management Advisor and Team Leader of the embedded EU Technical Support Unit (23 staff).
• Guided high-level policy dialogue and institutional coordination for EDE implementation.
• Provided quality assurance and technical support across NDMA’s early warning, community DRM planning, and response mechanisms.
• Led strategic planning, implementation oversight, and reporting of three EU-supported projects within NDMA.
• Delivered cross-cutting institutional strengthening and advised on long-term resilience strategies
